Cor Winkler PrinsThis blog is maintained by Cor Winkler Prins of the ITRP Institute. Cor has been translating ITIL theory into practical process definitions and supporting tool specifications since the early days of service management.

He started his career more than 20 years ago as a consultant helping large enterprises with their global deployments of the application that later became HP OpenView Service Desk. After he left Hewlett-Packard in 1998, he developed the first comprehensive set of integrated ITIL-based service management processes, called the Alignability Process Model. This set of 11 processes included detailed work instructions for IT professionals. It came with training material and comprehensive implementation practices that were used by ITSM consultants in more than 20 countries when it was acquired in 2007 by BMC Software.

Cor's main interests have always been the financial aspects of service management and helping managers optimize service levels while continuously driving down service costs.
