Ovum Puts ITRP on the Radar

Ovum logoThe main reason why ITRP was developed when there were already so many other ITSM products on the market, was to help IT departments become orchestrators. In this new role, IT combines the services of multiple external service providers to ensure the needs of the business are met in a timely and cost-effective manner. This is very different from the traditional role where IT is both the provider and the operator of all IT services.

In its recent ‘On The Radar’ report, Ovum picked up on this unique capability of ITRP to track the level of service between IT and its external service providers.

As Adam Holtby, Research Analyst at Ovum describes it: “Ovum believes that a solution that can act as a platform and improve an internal IT department’s relationship and communication with external providers will become increasingly more important as cloud-based services continue to gain traction.” Get the complete Ovum report and read all the good things Ovum has to say about ITRP.

More on the new role of IT can be found in the posts The Future of the IT Department and Orchestration is Now Strategic.
